ABOUT ME
Sharman Loredo
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
Masters Degree in Child and Family.
Welcome to St. Louise Counseling Center. My name is Sharman Loredo. I am a Roman Catholic. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I provide psychotherapy and counseling services. I am the person I am today because of my faith and Catholic teaching. Do not worry; you do not have to be of the same faith. I will not try to make you a Catholic. I will meet you where you are in your life and we will walk from there. I work from an approach of seen an individual as a whole person (physical, emotional and psychological).
It may feel pretty awkward or very uncomfortable looking for someone to talk too. I get it; I have been in your shoes. Talking to a stranger about your innermost thoughts can be risky. You may be experiencing sadness, grief, stress, anxiety or depression. It may be affecting your interpersonal relationship with others in your home, or at work or in the community. Some people think that you have to have a mental health disorder to get help. This is not the case. However, if you do have a mental health disorder, I will work in close cooperation with your medical doctors to provide a comprehensive treatment plan. Your needs will be addressed with compassion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker entails education, training and experience. Before getting my license, I graduated from California State University Sacramento (CSUS). I received a Master’s Degree in Children and Family. I interned at the following agencies: Child Protective Services, Elderly Adult Day Health Care Centers, at Elementary, Jr. High and High School setting and at a nonprofit agency.
As a Psychotherapist and Counselor, I have worked for a non-profit agency for over eight years and have been in private practice for 7 years. I have also been employed as a Therapist working with children, teens, young adults and older adults. I have worked as a Medical Social Worker, providing brief counseling services and community resources for teens and women who are pregnant or have recently delivered and experiencing: a crisis, postpartum depression, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, stress, sadness, grief, PTSD and substance abuse. I have also worked with Older Individuals, providing brief counseling, support and community resources.
Working with a therapist can help to bring healing, hope and peace.
